Life in the MTC

Chase spent three weeks at the missionary training center. This is his district and instructors.
He spent lots of hours in class learning how to share the gospel.
When he wasn't in class we was often studying at his desk.
Eating was a highlight, especially the free ice cream. Although he did have an unfortunate peanut reaction after eating a chinese dish one evening. Instead of going to the hospital he toughed out a long night in the bathroom with a bottle of Benedryl.
On his Preparation days he could be found in the laundry room writing letters while waiting for clothes to dry or out on the missionary field playing sports.
He was also able to take a trip to the temple across the street.
While walking the halls he ran into many friends from home, including his cousin Collin, the other Elder Wheeler.
Here is Chase and his friends from his BYU student ward.
Below is an excerpt from his first email home:

Hey There family!! First time writing a letter. This is the worst keyboard I have ever typed on. But anyways, the MTC is going awesome. The food is good. This monday i measured in at 181 pound. Yeah.... you know. No biggy but i figure it is better to gain then train right?

Ok then. First off i feel like im in a mexican sweat shop. The bad lighting, fans, the keyboard that sticks every time i press a button. But yeah life here is good. I've been getting your letters thanks. they are a big pick me up. Espically when I get back to my room and i want to like call you guys like i did at BYU.

Its crazy i've seen so many of my friends here. And i am dead set on finding Collin today.

Lets see before i forget. you guys should read D&C 118:3. Its been a blessing of comfort for me. well as long as i work hard.

Time here seriously is not the same. During class it seems like time has completely stopped sometimes, but then by dinner and like bed you are like, what happened to today? Like i cant believe its wednesday.

We were walking back from the temple today and we saw like all these families and we were like, whats the deal?... and we were like ooo. New guys... O snap Collin!! But no luck so far.

Ok bye Love you guys. Good to hear from you guys.!!!

Love Chase, I mean Elder Chase.
