Saying Good-bye to Ajax

It's December and transfers two week before Christmas. Chase is going to Toronto. He says good-bye to families and friends he has grown to love.

He has made friends from all over the world. This man is from Jamaica.

A sweet lady from the ward,

Chase has been teaching this gentleman from China and hopes to return for his baptism some day.

After his good-byes he heads of to transfers and new adventures in the city.

Gettin' a Little Chilly in Canada

So it's November not and getting very cold in Canada. So Chase wrote home and asked for more warm clothes. We sent him these hobo gloves with a mitten that pulls over the fingers and he say's they've saved his life. He can knock on doors with out have to take off his gloves! He says homes in Canada don't have doorbells.
We sent him money for a nice warm coat,

and a warm blankey for his bed!

The following photo's came with no explaination but it seems that some how Chase and his companion came to posess a lobster.

And thought perhaps they could keep it as a pet

IN THEIR BATHTUB!!
Feeding off things we don't want to know about
Guess the plan didn't work!

P-Day's

Chase's companion loves golf so guess what they get to do every p-day?

Not sure if he really likes golf or is just happy to have an excuse to wear shorts!
Check out the new golf attire he picked up at a local Goodwill
Okay he was never really good at matching but he has a cute smile!

First Area

Chase reported to his first area in Pickering & Ajax.

These cities lie on the shores of Lake Ontario about 2 hours east of Toronto.
The mission refers to this area as "the country" but I guess they've never been to Thackerville, Oklahoma.
He was so happy to find his favorite fast food restaurant exits in Canada!!

Arriving in Canada

The big day finally arrived for Chase's departure to Canada. We enjoyed a quick phone call during his lay over in Dallas. It was great to hear his voice!

One of the first things he noticed was the maple leaf everywhere.
He was greeted by his mission president Elder Eyre and his wife.
And received his first companion in the field.
Here is a shaky landing video taken by an excited Elder. (Through the sound of the plane's engines you can hear his narration)
